Dear Career Seeker,
Do you want to launch a new career in the second (and best!) half of life? For many people, their main career motivation is to get to a place where they can disengage and be free from work. However, you feel that there should be, there MUST be larger goals in life than endless leisure.
As they said in a recent issue of Fast Company Magazine: If you can't wait to retire so you can golf five times a week or catch up on your soaps, this ain't for you. But if you're willing to give something back, society really could use your talents.
The Encore Career movement is full of people, just like you, who rather than looking for retirement, disengagement, and freedom from work, are looking for a new challenge, re-engagement, and freedom to work.
ENCORE Career Institute Students are looking for:

You want to engage in meaningful work that makes the most of your unique skills and interests, while maintaining your flexibility to give time to all of the aspects of your life that are important to you (like being with/caring for family, traveling, etc.). But instead of living this dream, you find yourself stuck in a rut, unable to make the positive changes you desire because of all of the challenges (and fears) holding you back.
What you need is someone to help you define your passion and purpose and identify your most valuable transferable skills (hint: they are the ones you most enjoy using – the stuff you are a “natural” at). Then you need someone to help you define where you want to work, how you will reflect your passion and skills back into the world. Beyond that, you need a roadmap of how you are going to get from here to there, including detailed information on how to tap into the “hidden job market” beyond resumes, classified ads and job websites. Finally, you need support as you make you way into this new sphere – support to help you maintain your focus, overcome obstacles, and reach your personal goals.
Until recently, there simply hasn’t been a single place to get all of this knowledge and support. You were left on your own to sort through dozens of books, hundreds of websites, and thousands of career coaches in your quest to redefine retirement on your own terms.
